HS635 - Hydra 640x512 35mm Multi-Function Thermal Scope - Standalone Scope, Clip-On, Handheld Monocular

First thermal and the price seemed well worth it. After playing with it for a couple days I'm very impressed. Very crisp image. It's amazing how many things you see at night that you would otherwise overlook. I would consider purchasing another one. Only con I can think of would be the battery cap isn't tethered and trying to change a battery in the field I dropped the cap and had to crawl around to find it. Overall this is a very impressive and hard to beat optic especially for the price.

Removing the accordion rubber eye piece and putting a flip lens cover shortened it , making it in over all size and light weight

This is my first thermal. The clarity and resolution are great! Did a lot of research and the HS635 is just awesome for the price point, warranty and DNT CS!

I was in the market for a Thermal Sight after my Flir optic stopped working and was frustrated to learn Flir not only discontinued the optic but refused to provide any avenue for repair and service. I learned a lot after having my first device and knew what I wanted, and researched extensively. Honestly, I was a little concerned about why this optic with its specification was so much less in cost than competing optics of the same / similar specification. So I took a chance basing my decision 100% on specifications comparing only units that have the same or similar specs. After receiving my new DNT optic I could not be happier. I challenge anyone to find the same optic performance for this price point. The image was fantastic, resolution was also fantastic, and most importantly was the option for me to use it as a clip-on (my preferred use) but also can use it as a handheld and dedicated scope if I choose. The fact you can save different "zeros" for different set ups is excellent, and they understand the difference between zero for a clip on and zero for use as a scope, this is extremely important!. Very well designed, delivered performance as advertised. My only complaint is the included mount, it is not quick release making installing this scope in the field requires a tool, however their are options that I can get to upgrade. The included mount co-witnesses very nicely with my scope helping the zeroing process, so needing a tool for install is a very minor concession. I cannot comment on its longevity or durability since I've only had this model for a few weeks but did have a successful night hunt already and it worked perfectly.
