This scope is packed with features. I've only had it to the range once so I haven't put them all to the test yet, but what I have tried... just wow!
I replaced the dependable more expensive ACOG on my Colt AR-15 with this digital scope. I've never had an easier time zeroing. I'm 70 years old, arthritic, stiff, weak and unsteady with poor vision, but with this scope I've never been more accurate in my life. (For me, the days of red dots are over.) The controls are easy to understand and operate and the menu system couldn't be more intuitive.
Sometimes manufactures change a product just for the sake of change. That's not the case here. Every change made for the V2 over the V1 is an improvement. Anyone on the fence between the V1 and the V2 because of the additional cost, I highly recommend they bite the bullet and spend the extra cash. Every change modification to the V2 is definitely an upgrade. These guys really know what they're doing.
I don't know how ZULUS can sell this phenomenal scope at such a low cost, but it's worth every dime and more. I also love that they offer a 15% discount to veterans. That really sweetened the deal.
I can't end without mentioning the app. I absolutely hate apps. Everything has to have an app today. In this case, I have to admit that this app is great. It makes it ridiculously easy to upload ballistic information to the scope, (the app already has a list of pretty much every brand and type of ammo you might use including ballistic data), as well as to access and manage recordings. I get a kick out of pointing the scope at the target and seeing a live picture of what I see in the scope on my phone.
My purchase came with four ten hour batteries,(they'll last longer if you make use of the scope's standby mode), a charger and a data cable.
I am so impressed with this scope that I'm actually struggling to keep from purchasing a couple more, but I know it will happen.
The ZHD520R-V2 ZULUS HD V2 5-20× Digital Night Vision Scope really impressed me with how versatile and easy it is to use in the field. The image quality is sharp and clear whether you’re shooting in broad daylight or total darkness, and the built-in laser rangefinder with a ballistic calculator takes the guesswork out of longer shots. I also appreciate the practical touches, like the throw lever for quick magnification changes, comfortable eye relief, and a battery that easily lasts through a long night hunt. It feels tough and reliable, with waterproof and recoil-resistant construction that gives you confidence no matter the conditions. On top of that, features like video recording, adjustable IR, and app connectivity make it feel like you’re getting a high-end package without paying an outrageous price. All in all, it’s a scope that delivers on performance, convenience, and value—something I’d recommend to anyone who wants one optic that can truly handle it all.
I have the ATN 4k pro, Sightmark wraith 4k mini, and now the Zulus 5-20 LRF V2. This one is my favorite. The clarity while looking through the scope itself is top notch. It outperforms the Wraith and ATN in clarity, followed by the Wraith. The built in IR torch is a huge plus in my situation. I tend to use digital day/night scopes on bolt and lever guns, so having it built in allows for a simple one pic rail install vs other day night optics that have separate IR torches and either require 2 pic rails or the IR to be mounted on the side of the scope or on a scope ring mount. These types of mounts adds extra bulk that like to snag onto everything possible while trying to be stealthy. The Zulus maintains a sleek streamline all in one design that doesnt snag. The use of the rechargeable 21700 batteries is a huge plus. Theyre easy to buy replacements and keep on you cheap, theyre not a proprietary battery like some brands, not the expensive CR123A batteries many use, and it powers the entire scope, IR torch, and LRF. Its literally a one and done setup. It is also very compact and really lightweight while still being built very well. I was always impressed with the Wraith 4k mini because it was compact and lightweight, but the Zulus V2 is a tad lighter even though it has all the features, LRF, and IR built in. I dont know how DNT did it, but they blew me away with this unit and I’m beyond impressed!
I have an X-Sight 5 and my ZULUS HD V2 5-20X outperforms the X-Sight in every aspect at a significantly lower price point. I have the Zulus on my compact air rilfe. It’s weight and size make it a perfect combo for hunting.
I had just received the gun to mount the zulus to but have been getting familiar with all the functions and the digital picture is quite bright and night vision is excellent IMHO. So far so good will do another review once I take them both to the range.
