With a powerful built-in laser rangefinder measuring distances from 5 to 1200 yards, the HOUND provides fast, reliable readings for confident long-range shots. Its ballistic calculator instantly generates pinpoint aiming solutions by combining real-time laser data with your custom ballistic profile, turning every shot into a more precise hit.
Whether you're stalking nocturnal game through thick bushes, taking long-range shots with a rifle across open fields, or fine-tuning your aim for hunting with a crossbow in dense forests, the HOUND delivers exceptional accuracy tailored to every environment and loadout.
Featuring a high-sensitivity 18 mK / 12 μm thermal sensor and AI-enhanced Image Super Resolution, the HOUND detects even the slightest heat signatures with exceptional clarity. From spotting camouflaged prey in sunlit fields to tracking movement through total darkness, its thermal capabilities assure that no target escapes your sight.
Equipped with a crisp 1024×768 Micro-OLED display, the HOUND produces razor-sharp detail that brings thermal scenes to life. You can easily switch among four thermal palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, and Iron Hot, adapting intuitively to different lighting and terrain conditions.
The HOUND H315R offers a class-leading field of view of 30.7 yd × 23.0 yd at 100 yards, allowing rapid target acquisition and smooth tracking. Whether on the trail or in the field, the HOUND is your ultimate ally.
Ill start by saying I love this hand held. The field of view is great at 1x for scanning and being able to zoom to 4x is just right. You can still see and ID targets. The ballistics calculator has worked well so far. I need to try it out more with day scopes. It has worked very well with my 17hmr that has a non-LRF on it. I have two reasons I didn't give it five stars. First of all the eye cup is not very good. It is stiff and egg shaped. Thats fine if you just use one eye to look through it. I switch eyes so it was very uncomfortable until I trimmed it round. After that its fine. Wish it was more of the style on my Thermnights. They are softer and let less light out. The second thing is the DNT logo on the screen. It is very distracting. I have done a double take several times when scanning. If it was near the other things on the viewer it wouldn't be so bad. Its in the lower left hand corner of your vision and all alone so it distracts from scanning. Be nice if you could turn it off like in the old Sightmark NV scopes. I have not been out to get any ranges past 400+ yards but the range finder is spot on with my others. The performance of this handheld thermal is great. Just some details need adjusting. Love DNT this is my fourth DNT thermal/NV product. So far so good. Im teady for December and coyote night hunts.
Sweet product in a great form factor. Decent image quality but I think it belongs at a $999 price point for the 384 sensor. I also wish DNT had opted for a 21700 batter instead of the 18650; yeah, would be worth the extra weight and extra dimension of the larger battery in exchange for longer run-time.
I was looking for a smaller 384p monocular to carry in my EDC pack and the hound 315r was priced perfect and met my requirements.
The 315r performances is great. I like the 1.5X lens for better FOV since this is a scanner not a spotting scope for my use. I can easy spot targets hundreds of yards away and ID well even at 200+ yards easy.
The Hound 325 with bigger lens might make a better primary scanner for hunting, giving you more ID range. at longer ranges. I mainly just view under 200 yards and 315 15mm lens is great for that.
The unit is so small and handy sized with quality construction throughout. I would be hard not to like this hound, it’s just cool and produces a nice very stable image even in bad weather.
Definitely a game changer! Image is nice an clear and thermal is insane. It literally feels like cheating.
Light weight and compact. excellent choice for night hunting!
I am highly impressed with the thermal and ballistic calculator capabilities of this monocular, and we wholeheartedly recommend it, particularly given its competitive pricing. Absolutely recommend
I have hunted coyotes twice since receiving my DNT Hound. Dogs appeared clear and range finder worked great. Missed my one shot but that is on me! I am very happy with my purchase.
This is the first monocular I’ve purchased and my first DNT optic at all. Well worth the money. Clarity is as good as Bering hogster and AGM rattlers I’ve used. Range finder is great doubles as a laser pointer for buddies with night vision.
Fantastic resolution for the price. Very light weight. Great for spotting and ranging while hunting.
this thing has been great. Highly recommend for hog hunting.
