The NVMD-C200 continues to deliver versatile night vision performance across hunting, observation, and tactical applications. To get the most out of your NVMD-C200, keeping the firmware up to date is just as important as using the right optic.
The latest firmware introduces several meaningful improvements, including enhanced VCSEL illuminator compatibility, refined night vision image processing, smoother video recording performance, and overall system stability enhancements.
If your device has not been updated recently, now is a good time to verify that you are running the latest firmware version: V20260228_NVMD-C200.
Key Improvements in This Update
1. Enhanced Compatibility with VCSEL Illuminators
System performance with VCSEL infrared illuminators has been improved to deliver more stable image output under varying light intensities. Notably, the bright spots that previously appeared at the edges of the light field have been eliminated, resulting in a cleaner, more uniform image.
2. Improved Night Vision Image Quality
Optimized image processing enhances low-light performance and overall visual clarity. Below is a side-by-side comparison footage showing the differences between the previous and latest firmware versions.
Both firmware versions deliver strong image performance, but the latest release further improves consistency, noise control, and overall image stability in challenging lighting conditions.
3. Fixed Video Recording Frame Rate Issues
Resolved frame rate inconsistencies when recorded footage is processed in certain third-party video editing software.
This improvement results in smoother timeline playback, reduced frame dropping or desynchronization, making recorded footage easier to edit and review.
4. System Stability Enhancements
Additional system-level optimizations improve overall system stability, enhance reliability during extended use, and address known issues identified through user feedback.
Before You Begin
- A Windows or Mac computer is required to download and transfer the firmware package.
- Ensure the NVMD-C200 battery is sufficiently charged before starting the update.
- Do not disconnect the device or remove power during the update process.
How to Update NVMD-C200 Firmware

-
Download the firmware package from DNT Firmware Update Center.
-
Extract the downloaded ZIP file to obtain the .swu firmware file.
-
Note For Mac users: macOS does not natively recognize the scope when connected via USB, as it registers as an Android device. To transfer the file, you will need to use a third-party file transfer application designed for macOS-Android communication, such as OpenMTP.
-
Connect the NVMD-C200 to your computer using a data cable. The device will appear as an external storage drive.
-
Copy the .swu file into the root directory of the NVMD-C200 drive.
-
Safely eject the drive from your computer after the transfer is complete.
-
Restart the NVMD-C200. The power indicator will blink orange during the update process.
-
When the indicator turns solid blue, the update is complete.
-
Go to System Settings > Version No. to verify the installed firmware version.
Final Note
This firmware update focuses on real-world performance improvements, from illumination compatibility to image clarity and recording stability.
If your NVMD-C200 has not been updated recently, we recommend installing the latest firmware to take advantage of these performance enhancements and ensure the best possible experience in the field.
