QDF170 Quick Detach Mount Instructions
The QDF170 mount is a flip-to-side quick detach mount designed specifically for the NVMD (Night Vision Multi-Purpose Device). It lets you use the NVMD's unique flip-to-side features: flip the device to trigger either automatic recording or standby mode.
In this tutorial, we'll walk you through attaching the mount to your NVMD, mounting your scope on a Picatinny rail, adjusting spacing if needed, and quickly releasing it when you're done. Let's get started!
Step 1. Attaching the Mount to Your NVMD Scope
The QDF170 mount is specifically designed for the NVMD, which feature two threaded holes for attachment.
It can be attached to your scope only in one position.
Use the two provided screws to secure the mount to your scope. The recommended torque is 35 in-lbs.
Step 2. Mounting Your Scope on the Picatinny Rail
To mount your scope, tilt it slightly and align the flexible side of the mount with a slot on the Picatinny rail. Once aligned, roll the scope back to fit it securely onto the rail.
Next, push the lever until the locking button clicks into place. This locks the lever and secures the mount.
Step 3. Adjusting the Mount Spacing
If you encounter any of the following issues, you may need to adjust the mount's spacing:
-
The QDF170 is too tight to fit on the Picatinny rail.
-
The lever is too tight to lock back in place.
-
The mount is not steady, or there is a gap between the mount and the rail.
To adjust, push and hold the lever toward the side plate to unlock the adjustment screw. You can tighten or loosen the adjustment screw with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver.
Once the adjustment is complete, release the lever. The adjustment screw will automatically lock back into position.
-
Note: You only need to perform this adjustment once unless you change your rail or setup.
Step 4. Releasing the Mount
To quickly detach your scope from the rail, press the locking button to release the lever, then pull the lever to loosen the mount.
That's all for setting up your QDF170 mount. Now you can detach your NVMD in seconds or flip it to trigger auto recording or standby. Enjoy a hassle-free experience every time you head out!
